shinynewresume.com review and discount
Description: I ordered a resume and cover letter from this company. The design was ok, though it looked a bit conservative. I wasn’t too happy with my resume. They promised me a bright resume and it looked like the resume of other managers. Moreover, the price was quite high.
ShinyNewResume team claims that they’ll “make your resume shine”. I didn’t need anything outstanding, though; what I needed was a good update of my current resume of Hotel Manager. The company promised professional resume, typographical design and fast process – in fact, this was exactly what I was looking for. The site was convenient to use, so I decided to stay on them for my resume writing.
As I noticed, they didn’t give an exact quote on the site – just the approximate price per resume. The price depends solely on the career stage you’re on. For instance, starter’s resume was $520, mid-career was $660 and the executive was $800. However, I missed the full description of packages they offered and the price list. Such a price for resume was quite high; nevertheless, I didn’t mind paying it if the quality would be top-notch.
To get started, I was supposed to create an account. As soon as I did, I could place an order and pay. As I already had a written resume, I uploaded it instead of answering their questionnaire. I paid and expected to have one-to-one consultation with the writer; however, this never happened. I messaged the writer using a special board in my profile. He only replied the next day and asked me the extra questions which probably weren’t answered in my resume.
Quality of support and writing
The customer support is available via phone, however, there’s any information about their business hours. The process is quite unusual too – in four days I got a resume draft I had to approve. It wasn’t formatted – I was asked to check the content and approve it if everything was ok. Well… I didn’t like all about my resume and I asked the writer to be more creative as then my resume looked like a boring list of my previous jobs. After that, their designer worked on the resume and I got a finalized copy in two days.
I received the formatted resume and cover letter two days later after the approval. The design was ok, though it looked a bit conservative. I still wasn’t too happy with my resume. They promised me a bright resume and it still looked like the resume of other managers. Moreover, the price – I’ve seen a hundred dollar resume written by another site and it was not worse than mine. Well, it’s been two weeks so I cannot say if the resume was effective.
